A PLACE TO BE è in relazione al decennale dalla fondazione.

In a different prospective we can try to write an art history like a history of places.
Every artwork needs a space – a space to be created and a space of observation; the dimension of recognition is not only a testimonial of the artist and his style, but of greater needs: of construction that itself has given shape, of people that cross it and reside it, of thinking and of social organization during a period, of ways in which has been decided to create and live in the world.
Considering a space with all its components and sharings is assuming things with a responsible outlook. The available space that may contain any vague object/thing, also if we consider its visible function, ends up revealing mechanisms of a mediocre awareness (knowledge/cognition) – even the purest situations remain alive thanks to human experiences that take place.
A PLACE TO BE is a cycle composed from three artists projects referring to the architectural space, suitable for Lato, developed during 2016.
Different researches and points of view that are associated with the place, not on the physical level (where the artworks are placed), but on identity terms; so that specific characters may emerge. A different approach of exhibiting as an encounter of a story already going on and that we continuously intend to participate, with the conscious that any new act, any new artwork, from individual to individual, is a contribution of defining the reality.

The first project is FUTURE IN MY MIND of Enrico Vezzi.

LATO is an architecture studio and exposition space founded by Luca Gambacorti in 2006 recovering an ex industrial building inside the city walls of Prato. Besides the professional activity the objective is to keep going and consolidating collaborations from various territorial dimensions linked in different ways with the culture. A PLACE TO BE is in relation to the tenth anniversary from its foundation.

Enrico Vezzi (1979, San Miniato).

Enrico Vezzi (1979 San Miniato). Graduate in Psychology in University of Florence in 2004. From the beginning he conceives art as a mean to stimulate reflections/thoughts in relation to  collective story and personal memory. His artworks are always a hint of an attempt in relation to recorded history and the places to it connected. Every project is a testimonial of the project itself through which the artwork manifests itself, tempts to stimulate and create a dialogue.
